Point of Contention is a podcast with a goal to create a space where topics that are considered “volatile” in American society can be discussed from all points of view. We're looking to talk about things such as border security, abortion, tax laws and other topics that directly affect everyday Americans. Each episode will be about 30 to 45 minutes and provide viewers with the prior history of the topic, context of the why what’s happening is happening, what everyday people can do to change the narrative of the topic if they choose and what is currently happening with the issue.
This podcast is being created because talking about “hot-ticket” items is often looked at as taboo, but without talking about those issues how will people be able to come up with informed opinions on those topics? Also, there is a need for a space where people can get the context in each issue because with the insurgence of social media and the rise of the 24-hour news cycle, there is no longer a space for in-depth dives into issues as there once was in the past.
